The Hiring/Staffing Specialist is a member of the Site Operations team, leading frontline recruiting/staffing and

Summary
The Hiring/Staffing Specialist is a member of the Site Operations team, leading frontline recruiting/staffing and
community outreach for a Lazer Logistics site. This role is accountable for executing recruiting strategies, building
talent pipelines through partnerships and local engagement, managing hiring pipelines, and supporting onboarding for
operations employees. This role partners closely with site leadership to support workforce planning, and employee
engagement, while completing required HR processing for newly hired employees. The ideal candidate is proactive

Job Description
Recruiting & Workforce Planning
- Partner with site leadership to develop and execute recruiting/hiring strategies for driver and nondriver roles, with a strong focus on proactive sourcing and community-based outreach.
- Lead community engagement efforts to build talent pipelines, including attending job fairs, partnering with local organizations, distributing branded merchandise, and representing the company at hiring events.
- Build and maintain relationships with driving schools, workforce agencies, and community partners to support ongoing and future hiring needs.
- Serve as a thought partner to the site leadership on recruiting strategy, hiring priorities, and workforce planning needs.
- Review employment applications and coordinate/manage candidate progress throughout the hiring lifecycle, providing regular status updates to site leadership.
- Partner with the Recruiting team to track recruiting activity and sourcing effectiveness, including reporting on outreach efforts, partnerships, and hiring outcomes.
- Coordinate, facilitate, and conduct weekly new hire and orientation sessions as part of the hiring and onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition from candidate to employee.
- Complete onboarding activities, including site specific operational policies, general safety practices, and coordination of required personal protective equipment (e.g., vests, footwear).
- Partner with Operations and Safety teams to ensure new hires are prepared, compliant, and job ready.
- Maintain close working relationships with local site management and the HR team to support employee relations matters.
- Monitor, respond to, and document employee inquiries across all levels via phone and email, in coordination with the HR team.
- Process and coordinate new hires, employee changes, leaves of absence, unemployment claims, and separations with the HR team in accordance with company requirements and applicable federal and state laws.
- Generate routine and ad hoc reports to support operational needs.
- Assist in identifying, implementing, and reinforcing policies and process improvements where applicable.
- Promote a business partner and ownership mindset to the team to prioritize operational excellence, adaptability and resilience to change and continuous improvement.

- Conduct business unit assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and Lazer requirements.
- Identify best practices to reduce driver turnover and ensure management teams build strong relationships to improve retention.
- Develop, execute, and assess programs to ensure that Lazer deploys best practices in yard management solutions.
- Coach and develop Regional, Area, and Site Managers.
- Conduct periodic 1:1s, goal setting and performance reviews.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Customers.
- Utilize available metrics to monitor and maximize customer deliverables.
- Lead safety performance by developing procedures and campaigns to eliminate hazardous behaviors and promote a culture of workplace safety.
- Maintain P&L accountability for the region, including budget development and financial forecasting.
- Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities to drive improved financial performance.
- Identify and communicate goals and challenges with recommended solutions and strategy.
