Job Description

Summary:
Dispatchers keep the drivers moving in an efficient manner, coordinating them to different locations keeping our customers running with no interruptions in service. Dispatchers manage trailer moves, driver lunches, the time that the driver is in truck and will work closely with the Site Manager and Area Manager daily. Dispatchers will work closely with our customers and other 3rd parties to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective service that is possible.

Job Description:
  • Apply your knowledge of transportation.
  • Verify records on incoming shipments.
  • Log shipments into computer.
  • Document preparation.
  • Trouble shoot and correct problems.
  • Record shipment data.
  • Compare shipment contents to manifest, invoice, or order forms.
  • Report any discrepancies to accounting.
  • Inspect trailer temperatures.
  • Record tractor, trailer, and seal numbers.
  • Dispatch moves to drivers.
  • Examine product and work to verify conformance specifications.
  • Accurately maintain records.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Data Entry Problem solving skills Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to overcome day to day issues with trailer movements and other issues that may arise during shift.

The Area Manager is expected to drive when absences or staffing shortages occur.
