Summary

The Area Manager is a member of the Field Operations team, overseeing safe and efficient 24/7 operations across multiple customer sites within a defined geography. This role delivers high service standards through strong leadership of Site Managers and site teams, including recruiting, training, coaching, and accountability for safety, operational execution, and customer satisfaction. This role also supports customer and financial performance through relationship management and P&L analysis for a given POD. The ideal candidate is a results-driven, flexible leader who can effectively scale operations, develop high-performing teams, and consistently deliver strong safety, service, and customer outcomes.

Job Description:

Operational Excellence

• Oversee day-to-day operations with a focus on safety (observations & coaching), customer service, and consistent service delivery.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify process improvements, and resolve operational issues impacting service levels.
• Provide regular, clear updates and insights to the Regional Manager.
• Fill in as a driver during employee absences or staffing shortages.

Safety & Equipment Management

• Ensure accountability for safety standards across Site Managers and employees, including resolving maintenance-related issues.
• Oversee equipment readiness and site operations, including maintenance, rentals, and vendor-supported repairs.

Customer & Financial Performance

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by coordinating logistics, attending meetings, and aligning service delivery with expectations.
• Analyze P&L performance for a given POD, reporting insights to senior leadership.

People & Team Leadership

• Lead and manage a team of Site and Assistant Area Managers to drive safe operations, strong customer service, and driver engagement.
• Provide end-to-end leadership across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, mentoring, and team development.
• Manage, develop, and supervise personnel to meet business needs efficiently.
• Train new and existing managers/drivers to maintain high performance, safety, and service standards .
• Be a leader by example and live our overall purpose and core values. Foster communication, collaboration, diversity, inclusion, innovation and a productive team environment.
• Promote a business partner and ownership mindset to the team to prioritize customer service excellence, adoption and resilience to change and continuous improvement.
