Summary:
The Director of Business Development will be primarily responsible in identifying new business, selling Lazer Logistics services and solutions, and ultimately onboarding the business within specific regions. The successful candidate will support the department in achieving its annual business objectives and lead strategic initiatives. The Director will drive the region's growth through elevated engagement and advocacy efforts achieved through proactive planning and activity, effective information management and dedicated interactions. This individual will act in the best interests of the company and meet corporate, departmental, and business objectives. This role is based on Salary and Commission.
Job Description:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Develop new business through both current customers and new opportunities.
- Research and generate new customer leads in a specific geographic region.
- Coordinate and present responses to Requests for Pricing (RFP's)
- Demonstrate attention to detail, excellent follow-up, and follow-through skills.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with key departments within Lazer Logistics
- Identify customer needs and address concerns, adding value through reliable responsiveness.
- Establish credibility by demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and strategically applying our solutions.
- Complete adequate and proper research prior to presenting proposal to our customers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the fundamentals of the Supply Chain industry, including familiarity with warehousing, distribution, retail, and manufacturing trends
- Basic understanding of YMS (Yard Management Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) & TMS (Transportation Management Systems)
- Travel regularly, using prospecting skills to deliver new business and to maintain/develop existing customer relationships.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities in a challenging environment.
- Work proactively to ensure customers remain within contract terms.
- Utilize strong persuasive skills to educate the customer on our Value Proposition
- Other duties as required to ensure that the sales goals & company objectives are met.
