Director, Operations Finance

Summary
The Director, Operations Finance is a senior FP&A leader embedded directly alongside the President and CFO, serving as the primary finance resource for operational performance management. This role owns the financial metrics, weekly P&Ls, and planning processes that drive how Lazer runs its business day to day. The Director turns numbers into a clear operational picture, keeps leadership focused on what the financials are actually saying, and ensures the right information reaches the right people at the right time.

Job Description
P&L Management & Financial Performance
  • Own the weekly operations reporting processes, ensuring results are accurate, distributed on time, and understood by the operational leaders who need to act on them
  • Dig into variances, understand the operational drivers behind the numbers, and bring a clear point of view on what happened and what to do about it
  • Track and manage the KPIs that matter most to the business, making sure the metrics leadership monitors are the right ones and that they are current, accurate, and presented in a way that drives decisions
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the annual site and product line budget process, building the templates, timelines, and supporting materials that keep it on track across the organization
  • Own the operations forecasting cycle, including mid-year reforecasts, maintaining a current and reliable view of where the business is headed and why
  • Build and maintain the financial models that support both near-term planning and longer-range strategic decisions
  • Play an active role during the month close processes to ensure the financial results are represented in an accurate and timely manner
Executive & Operational Support
  • Serve as the primary finance resource for the President, supporting their operational priorities, preparing materials for internal reviews, and ensuring they have the financial context needed to make good decisions quickly
  • Prepare and present financial reporting for leadership, including Monthly Operating Reviews and other recurring performance updates, with clear commentary on results and trends
  • Support cross-functional strategic initiatives by providing the financial analysis, modeling, and scenario work needed to evaluate options and move forward with confidence

Reporting & Process Ownership
  • Continuously improve the quality, speed, and clarity of financial reporting, simplifying where possible and building toward more automated, scalable processes
  • Monitor operational and financial trends, flag issues early, and ensure leadership has a current and accurate picture of business performance at all times
  • Translate financial results into plain language that operational leaders can act on, adjusting how information is presented based on who needs it and what decision they are making

Summary:
The position oversees the transportation safety management process for the assigned region in conjunction with organization safety goals and priorities. The position provides overall support and guidance to regional operations management. The regional safety manager will coordinate with Region Operations Director/Manager and Division Safety Director in crafting short- and long-term strategies in building a culture of safety. The Regional Safety Manager will oversee safety systems and activities to maintain oversight of regulatory compliance, provides training and professional development for all drivers, clerical staff, and management in the region. Conducts audits and inspections of the transportation safety management process and monitors metrics and trends reflecting performance. Inspects all equipment at the site level to ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT requirements.
Job Description:
  • Guides and promotes employee safety performance by coaching and training on safety systems, policies and procedures, safety campaigns, and programs to eliminate, prevent or control injurious hazards, acts and behaviors.
  • Fosters a safety culture within the local site and customer representatives and also conducts business unit assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer and company requirements.
  • Partners with local operations team and the customer to ensure that corrective action and/or preventive measures are identified and completed.
  • Investigates, reports and records vehicle accidents, work-related injuries, and incidents.
  • Maintain written documentation of events, accidents, complaints, general requirements, and prepare documentation as necessary.
  • Trains managers, drivers and site support staff on OSHA, FMCSA and DOT regulations, including hours of service, drug testing, fitness for duty, compliance files, equipment compliance, etc.
  • Assesses fleet readiness and advises local management and corporate team on maintenance and repair matters.
  • Provide comprehensive & accurate weekly/monthly reporting containing appropriate metrics.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Summary
The Regional Fleet Manager is a key member of the Fleet Management team and is accountable for overseeing the maintenance, repair, utilization, and financial performance of Lazer equipment and assets within an assigned region. This role ensures fleet availability, cost control, compliance, and customer satisfaction while maintaining a strong focus on site audits, asset utilization optimization, and maximizing operating ratio (OR). The Regional Fleet Manager partners closely with Operations and Finance to drive efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve profitability.

Job Description
Establish, optimize, and mobilize available resources to minimize asset downtime, maximize asset utilization, extend asset life, and reduce rental and incremental fleet expenses.
Conduct regular, structured site audits to evaluate fleet condition, utilization, maintenance practices, safety, compliance, and operational alignment; develop and execute corrective action plans with site leadership.
Analyze and optimize asset utilization and RFP utilization, ensuring assets are correctly deployed, reducing idle equipment, and minimizing unnecessary capital and rental spend.
Lead initiatives that directly support operating ratio (OR) improvement, including cost containment, downtime reduction, utilization efficiency, and maintenance effectiveness.
Actively develop and execute initiatives, processes, procedures, and programs that improve fleet cost efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.
Promote a business partner and ownership mindset with site leadership and operations teams to drive accountability, customer service excellence, adoption of best practices, and continuous improvement.
Identify and communicate functional goals, opportunities, risks, and challenges using data-driven analysis with actionable recommendations and measurable outcomes.
Serve as a leader by example by living the company's purpose and core values, fostering collaboration, inclusion, innovation, and a high-performing culture.
Manage local vendor relationships, including in-network and out-of-network providers; review estimates and invoices, negotiate labor rates and parts pricing, monitor vendor quality, and ensure performance meets cost and service expectations.
Conduct routine onsite visits to support and train teams on fleet best practices, audit fleet operations, reduce idle and dwell time, address safety concerns, and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and company policies.
Utilize Fleetrock (FMS), Geotab, and other fleet systems to monitor asset health, utilization, spend, and performance; provide data-driven insights to site and regional leadership.
Oversee the Goodyear Invoice approval process and facilitate all required training around Lazer's Tire program
Manage and support all telematics initiatives to improve driver behavior, asset utilization, preventive maintenance compliance, and overall fleet efficiency.
Monitor preventive maintenance (PM) compliance to ensure all equipment completes scheduled service based on mileage, time, or age, reducing breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
Maintain awareness of industry regulations, fleet best practices, and market trends to ensure compliance, competitiveness, and continuous improvement.
Monitor operational and financial metrics, analyze trends and variances, and take timely corrective action to improve performance and profitability.
