Position Overview
The Senior Director of Marketing & Lead Generation is a member of the Commercial Operations Lead Team and will own the full marketing strategy, brand development, and demand-generation engine for our logistics and spotting services. This role combines high-level brand thinking with hands-on execution. This leader will build and lead campaigns that attract logistics decision-makers, drive qualified opportunities, and fuel sustainable growth. This role will also be accountable for leading a team in driving sales and building brand awareness. Their responsibilities will include developing an overall marketing plan, approving campaigns, and measuring the return on investment of various advertising methods.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Build the company's end-to-end marketing strategy aligned with business goals and that complies with evolving company standards.
- Position and strengthen the brand within the logistics, transportation, and warehousing sectors.
- Lead the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, content, and field marketing.
- Review current marketing trends and advertisements to determine the effectiveness of different styles and strategies.
- Work cross-divisionally with both sales and marketing departments to develop successful strategies and campaigns that attract new customers and retain current clients.
- Develop new marketing strategies for products or services that comply with evolving company standards.
- Oversee financial plans and analyze sales numbers and marketing budget to identify the profit margin and effective campaigns.
Lead Generation & Demand Creation
- Develop and own the lead-generation engine, including inbound, outbound, ABM, and event strategies.
- Improve the quality and volume of sales-qualified leads through data-driven optimization.
- Create segment-specific messaging targeting warehouse managers, distribution center leaders, transportation directors, and 3PL decision-makers.
- Manage marketing automation tools, CRM-based workflows, and lead scoring.
Content & Digital Marketing
- Oversee content creation including case studies, whitepapers, landing pages, and sales collateral.
- Optimize the company website for conversion and SEO performance.
- Drive paid advertising (Google, LinkedIn, industry networks) and track ROI.
- Manage social media presence and brand voice.
- Create and maintain a successful brand image that attracts potential customers to our product or service.
Market Intelligence & Analytics
- Conduct competitive analysis and identify market trends in logistics, spotting, and yard operations.
- Research competitors to stay current with products or services on the market and maintain a competitive presence/advantage.
- Track KPIs such as CAC, lead velocity, pipeline contribution, conversion rates, and campaign ROI.
- Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
Collaboration
- Promote a business partner and ownership mindset to the team to prioritize customer service excellence, adoption, and resilience to change and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with Sales to ensure alignment on lead quality, messaging, and funnel metrics.
- Support the recruitment and HR teams with employer branding where relevant.
- Coach, mentor, and develop employees while growing the team of marketing strategists.
- Collaborate with other executives to make high-level decisions regarding the budget and the direction of the company.
