The analyst serves as Legal's business owner and subject-matter partner for reporting, workflow, legal technology, and AI use cases, working closely with IT, Enterprise Data, Finance, and other corporate functions. Technical solutions, enterprise platforms, production reporting environments, integrations, security, access, and architecture remain governed by the responsible enterprise teams.

Job Description
Reporting and Analytics

  • Own the Legal Department's reporting requirements, metric definitions, business rules, priorities, and acceptance criteria. Partner with Enterprise Data and IT to design, develop, validate, and maintain governed dashboards and reports for legal leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Define and manage Legal's Power BI reporting roadmap and business requirements. Work within the enterprise Power BI environment and established data governance, security, deployment, and support standards to surface key legal metrics, outside counsel spend, matter status, and departmental performance.
  • Conduct trend analysis across approved legal datasets to identify patterns, surface risks, and support data-driven decision-making by the VP and CLO. Validate data definitions and interpretations with relevant business owners and Enterprise Data.

Outside Counsel Spend and Financial Management

  • Analyze and report on outside counsel spend, tracking spend against budgets, identifying variances, and providing actionable recommendations to reduce cost and improve value.

Legal Tools, Data, and Trackers

  • Define the business requirements, data fields, workflows, controls, and reporting needs for a comprehensive litigation tracker. Partner with IT to select, configure, integrate, or develop the solution using approved enterprise platforms and architecture standards.
  • Maintain the Legal Department's contract and matter data, business definitions, and reporting requirements, including FPP terms, contract status, renewal dates, fee arrangements, and performance against agreed terms. Use approved systems of record and partner with IT and Enterprise Data where integration or enterprise reporting is required.
  • Serve as Legal's functional owner and primary business contact for approved legal technology platforms. Manage business configuration, process documentation, user adoption, vendor service needs, and continuous improvement in coordination with IT. IT retains responsibility for technical administration, identity, access, security, integrations, architecture, and production support.
