Senior Legal Operations Analyst

Summary

The Senior Legal Operations Analyst is a member of the Legal Operations & Strategy team, accountable for delivering the Legal Department's reporting, analytics, and operational infrastructure at Lazer Logistics. This role owns the design and management of reporting and financial performance"building Power BI dashboards, analyzing outside counsel spend, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making. This role also leads legal tools, trackers, and technology enablement, including litigation and contract tracking systems, AI adoption, and end-to-end project execution to drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate is highly analytical with strong technical fluency across data, financial modeling, and legal technology, and able to translate insights into actionable business outcomes.



Job Description

Reporting and Analytics

  • Own the Legal Department's reporting function " designing, building, and maintaining dashboards and reports that deliver regular, accurate, and actionable insights to legal leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage a Power BI reporting environment that surfaces key legal metrics, outside counsel spend, matter status, and departmental performance on a recurring basis.
  • Conduct trend analysis across legal data sets to identify patterns, surface risks, and support data-driven decision-making by the VP and CLO.
Outside Counsel Spend and Financial Management
  • Analyze and report on outside counsel (OC) spend, tracking spend against budgets, identifying variances, and providing actionable recommendations to reduce cost and improve value.
  • Support legal department budgeting and forecasting processes, maintaining financial models and working closely with Finance to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Manage fixed-price and alternative fee arrangements with outside counsel, coordinating with firms to ensure billing compliance and data completeness.
  • Coordinate directly with outside counsel firms to collect, validate, and standardize billing and matter data; build and maintain searchable, usable databases that give the legal team reliable access to firm and matter information.
Legal Tools and Trackers
  • Design and build a comprehensive litigation tracker " an integrated, searchable, and actively maintained system that provides the legal team with real-time visibility into the status, exposure, and activity across all active matters.
  • Track and report on key metrics related to FPP terms, contract terms and statuses, and critical contract data " maintaining a centralized, current view of the department's contractual obligations, renewal dates, fee arrangements, and performance against agreed terms.
  • Administer and optimize legal technology platforms, serving as the primary point of contact for configuration, user support, vendor relationships, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage Smartsheet-based project portfolios and reporting workflows, ensuring the legal team's initiatives are tracked, visible, and on schedule.
AI Enablement, Training, and Project Management
  • Serve as the Legal Department's internal resource for AI tools and technology " identifying opportunities, leading adoption of platforms including Claude and ChatGPT, and training team members to use tools effectively.
  • Develop and deliver internal training programs that build the legal team's proficiency across AI, reporting, and operational tools.
  • Manage legal operations projects end-to-end, coordinating timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables to ensure on-time and on-scope execution.
  • Support the VP of Legal Operations & Outreach in driving operational excellence and advancing the department's strategic priorities.
Team Collaboration & Leadership

Regional Director

Summary

The Regional Director is a member of the Operations team, responsible for partnering with corporate Safety, Fleet, HR, and Accounting team members to ensure that regional site operations meet both Lazer and customer standards. This role will be accountable for P&L performance, regulatory compliance, budget management and cost control, distribution of resources, employee management and retention, contract adherence and customer satisfaction.

Job Description
Claims Oversight & Governance
Oversee the administration and management of Auto Liability, General Liability, Property, Cargo Loss, and Environmental claims in the US within assigned regions in accordance with Lazer Spot's Claim Handling SOPs, serving in the Claims Management capacity rather than adjuster authority.
Coordinate and support the investigation of claim validity by utilizing field contacts and facilitating the gathering of evidence such as witness statements, dashcam footage, and other resources to support claim handling by TPAs and partners.
Review and provide input on claim strategies while collaborating with internal and external partners to minimize costs, mitigate risk, and support timely resolution in alignment with established protocols.
Manage subrogation efforts for assigned regions to support cost recovery and overall claim cost containment initiatives.
Stakeholder Coordination
Act as the field's primary point of contact for all claim matters, facilitating communication and information flow between field operations and claim stakeholders.
Act as liaison and point of contact between the field and claims handled by TPA, ensuring adherence to SOPs and promoting timely and efficient claim resolution.
Provide regular updates to management and the field on high dollar, high profile claims, including status, risk exposure, and resolution progress.
Vendor & TPA Oversight
Review, negotiate, and process vendor repair invoices in alignment with company guidelines and cost containment objectives.
Review Third Party Administrator (TPA) notes and documentation to maintain internal Lazer claim files and monitor claim activity for compliance with company standards and expectations.
Assist with monthly open claim reviews for assigned regions, tracking performance metrics, identifying trends, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Compliance Support
Ensure claims-related activities within assigned regions align with Lazer Logistics' Claim Handling SOPs, authority levels, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations through ongoing monitoring and oversight activities.
Assist the department with insurance renewal, including the distribution of cab cards and certificates of insurance when requested to support compliance and operational continuity.
Participate in manager training focused on accident reporting and information gathering, reinforcing adherence to claim handling standards and procedures.
